What does Forbes Magazine Have to Say About Baby Boomers with Network Marketing? Part 1

After reading an interesting article in Forbes Magazine about Baby Boomers and Network marketing, I thought it might be a good idea to expand on that from my own experience. I agreed with everything in the article.

The author, Robert Laura, asked the question, “Would You Join A Multi-Level Marketing Company for Retirement Income?”

He started out very skeptical of the network marketing / MLM industry, but conceded with the statement, “As a results, I believe that the entire industry is poised for explosive growth, and can be one of the most significant solutions to America’s current retirement savings crisis.”

One of my passions at this point in life is giving hope to folks. And I especially want that for folks my age – those in the Baby Boomer generation.

Many baby boomers are hurting financially, health-wise, and relationally. And when we are in that situation, we feel like we have no freedom.

One of reasons I started my blog was to start reaching out to this age group because of what I have experienced, learned and continue to learn.

If you are in this category, I want to give you hope. I want to let you know that if I can do it, you can do it.

I haven’t always felt strongly about network marketing. I tried it with a well known company back in the 80’s and was not successful.

So, I understand when I mention network marketing to folks my age and I can visually see a wall going up. And I know it’s not for everyone, I’ve learned ~ and this was hard for me… but I’ve learned not to push.

So now we have this Baby Boomer generation of about 76 million people who are concerned about their retirement years. We’re living longer – but what does that look like. Benjamin Franklin said “Some people die at 25 and aren’t buried until 75.”

We also:
~ Don’t want to annoy family and friends.
~ Don’t want to spam their facebook page with what they’re product or service all the time.
~ Have heard it’s some kind of pyramid scheme or the person at the top makes all the money.

There are a lot of things we think or have heard and this article addresses them, as will I over the next couple of days.

Great article Kay and as a fellow boomer one that I understand and relate to. I read the Forbes article myself and did a blog a while ago and there is no doubt we are on the same page.
